Bring new life to the bathroom cabinet

Have you ever taken on projects at your house? I normally stick to the simple ones, like painting. Today, it was painting the bathroom cabinet. If I want something more complicated I go to my hubby and see if he can overcome my request. He is very handy and artsy. So there are very few things that he cannot figure out how to create for me. I love that about him. It brings us together when we work on these little projects.

Part of remodeling our home is reusing some of the old things which I have no problem doing. The bathroom cabinet looks very dated with everything else looking new and fresh. So I decided a little paint was needed.

This is not the first time I have painted a cabinet in a bathroom to give it a facelift. One day we hope to replace the unit with everything new, but for now, paint will have to do. I used leftover paint from our main living areas so it would flow nicely with the rest of the house.

I work on these little projects. My intention is to use up what we already have instead of buying new things. Part of buying our new home meant money was going to be tight for a while until our old home was sold, which took a little longer than expected. In the end, we are so happy to be in our new home and make it special to us. So, for now, as we work through the many projects that we have left to complete, I’m going to make do with what I have to make sure our house feels like a home.

Faith

You have to trust yourself that you can complete a project, and that it might not turn out right. I once picked out a paint color that was BOLD but really did not look good. My husband painted it and we lived with it for 5 years…because we loved each other. Neither one of us had the heart to tell the other that we did not like it. We were newlyweds trying to navigate our new life. But just as in my story, we have to have faith that God will guide us to the right path.

He gives us the choice to make our decisions, but we need to lean into him for what is the right answer. Have trust that he will provide and trust that if we listen to that inner voice it will all work out for the best.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (6) in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
