Wonderful Warmth while it’s Icy Cold Outside – Firewood

firewood

Do you in some way prepare for the cold winter months? We do in many ways around here. One of the major ways is cutting firewood, although this is not something I tend to help with. Another way is by preparing food for the winter by canning and freezing as much as we can while we have fresh produce from our garden and our neighbors.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

I will help with stacking, and the kids are great helpers with stacking firewood. We believe that it is important for our kids to understand that hard work pays off.

We work hard to have firewood so that we can sell it and also heat our home all winter long. We have a wood-burning stove that helps offset the cost of heating our home during the cold winter months. I also just love knowing that we have been able to provide for our home. I grew up having a fireplace and then a wood-burning stove.

It is the most relaxing and cozy thing to sit and enjoy a fire when it is freezing cold out. Just daydream for now as I do love summer and being able to be outside as much as possible, especially taking early morning or evening walks.

If you are looking for a great way to start fires in fireplaces, grills, or outside fire pits you should check out Fatwood or any other fire-starter linked.

Faith

Firewood is often used for heating homes and providing warmth during cold weather. God’s love and protection are likened to a comforting warmth that surrounds and sustains believers in times of need. The gathering and burning of firewood can symbolize the nurturing presence of God in our lives.

Do you feel the warmth of God’s love in your heart in your soul? I know that is not always how I feel but it is something I strive for. I know what it feels like to be loved by my parents, my husband, and my kids. I know that He loves me but to know that feeling deep inside is something that I have struggled with personally. I’m working on growing in my faith to better understand it and make myself a better person. I want to be better for my kids, husband, and family to become the best person for them.
